ok so...i have 1 cherry shrimp in a 3 gallon heavily planted hex.

it has 3 otto cats, that are moving to my 20 gallon guppy tank, and one displaced glass cat.

Im heading out today to pick up 8 young cherrys

how many can i safely put in this tank? i do 40% water changes every few days to a week.

the pics are a few weeks old..the plants have all grown up and nearly reaching the top ^_^ i might have to trim, also adding a few small peaces of drift wood.

This tank has been up and cycled for about 6 months.

Nice little tank. In a few months it won't matter how many you start out with because you'll have hundreds of RCS unless you get all one sex.

^_^ ty,

that is the plan..i want them to breed so i can toss them in my 40 gallon as snacks...and they are cute.

Shrimp have a very small bio-load. I've heard the "safe recommendation" to be 10-15 shrimp per gallon of water.

ok^_^ got some updates shots,

i didn't get 8..i got closer to 18^_^, i traded for a bunch of my plant trimmings
While i was there i was checking out the guys tank and noticed his guppies had Camallanus, i had a run in with these nasty worms and had some left over meds...gave me extra shrimp for it!! yay!
here they are acclimating, and some of them in the tank...they are small and allot of the females already have saddles!
Its hard to see them in the tank at the moment but they have some coloring up to do.

Nice. But a darker subtrate will make them colour up better than your current light coloured gravel.:)

Wow ... can't wait til they color up!!
Me ether ^_^ the larger ones are only about 2 months old so they are still young...soon!

Lol, I need to seriously get some already!

Looking forward to seeing them all settled in soon. :)

inverts are addicting..>.>

yeah?... iv thought about this, but i don't know if i want to go threw with a full change, the plants have finely all jungled in how i like ..though i could rescape hmmm..

I have black worms in the substrate...i wonder how hard it would be to get them out.

they are young..the larger only about 2 months so i think ill give them time to color and see what i get before diving in to that but thank you for the top!^_^

inverts really are addicting.......
