small update...no pics yet
so they were upgraded to half a 10 gallon...plants on one half..a divider and my marbled cray on the other half...to keep the cray from munching threw my plants. The shrimp hang out on both sides and i just spotted my first few babies!!!! yayayyyyyy!!!!

okay this thread convinced me to breed these things. can they be used as feeders?
and can they live with only a slightly planted tank?

With nothing in the tank to keep them in check they breed like crazy, so with all the extras they make great feeders for small fish.
nice. how much do these shrimp cost to buy from an LFS usually? and can i breed them in a 1.5 gallon with like one plant?i just dont want to buy anything and i have a 1.5 gallon already. i would probably do no light, blue gravel, 1 plant, no heater or filter changes. i mean how much waste can those things possibly produce? Id prefer to not use a plant because wouldnt that require a light?
