..i have a 3.5 gallon cycled tank iv been using as a holding tank ( my fish as all small), tried to breed scuds in it but gave up cuz they are so small....

question is could i breed a mall colony of cherry shrimp in there?
been looking up how to do it and all ill have to do is toss in my spunge filter..and i should be set....and ideas comments?..

The shrimps are _ big. Yeah, the tank doesn't even necessarly have to be heated. I talked to a guy in Washington that did it for 6 months with no heater

yeah they are tiny....i was thinking a few adults and as soon as the babies are half there adult size ill dump them in the tank for the fish to find and eat at there will.....leaving room for more babies....thinking 3 females and a male to start out with..?

I had to start out with more when i did mine, that's just my personal experience, i'm by no way an expert on the subject. I remember being pissed off that they were costing me 7$ each at the time

Ha me neither, just going off what I have heard. I was thinking of breeding these guys or convicts for feeders.

yeah i found them for as low as 4$ each..dont really care about how red they are seeing as they will be for food....hmm ill try with a few females and a male if i can tell them apart and see how it does..ill keep everyone updated when i start

I've done both of those in a 10 gallon. Convicts were easier. Once i did a water change and forgot to plug the extension cord, (heater and filter were connected to it) and the air stone (coming from the big tank) was the only thing going for 10 days. Get home from being out of town and i have eggs.

Nice! Yeah thinking a couple of convicts and a little flower pot or two ought to do it eh?
