I've been driving a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 318 for the last decade and I've rarely had any real issues with it.

Not just is that going to happen but also depending on year and type... And how you drive
Awd has axle breaking problems in front. Mainly from bigger tires

Once the pig tail wears out they all 1998 and older throw a code saying coolent sensor is bad..

Awd,2wd,and fwd all get death wobble when front end gets wear out.

If you plan on lifting one there very very expensive.

Track bars wear out and there about 150-200 a pop

Drivers door sags after a few hundred open and closes a plus is the hinges are cheap

The head liners never stay up

The alarms systems start malfunction after a while.

And also batterys in your keyless entry go dead about 5 times a year...

I've owned 4 jeeps and also have a few Buddys that have owned a few and also I'm on a jeep forum and get to see many people with the same problems i and many of my buddys incounter

How about this, get what you like. You ask us for an opinion, its a vehicle and most everyone will have a different view on the ones you posted. They are all mechanical and will all break down. Get the one that you like. Everyone on here drives different so you will get different responses. You drive hard, your vehicle wont last, you drive like a grandma and your vehicle will last. But then again no matter how you drive, at some point it will break down and you cant get around that no matter what anyone says, nothing is bulletproof.

I'm a Chevy guy, so I would say the Trailblazer. My stepdad has one and has been good to him, only issue he has had from it is the speedometer doesnt work. Its a 2005 with 41,000 miles, he doesnt drive it much which is why nothing has really went wrong with it. Just because I say TB doesnt mean thats what you need to get, again...get what you like.

I agree with Master B. get what you like. I've never dealt with the trailblazers so I dont have any input there, but I'd steer clear of the Exploder. I have an 06 and its been a real pisser the whole way. The motor is great but it's all the peripheral equipment ford uses that sucks.

I like both and I need it for the city
I look into both jeep and ford it's not that I don't listen to anyone else,
I jst want to hear it from people that have owned the vehicle,
I don't need it for speed but if it has it better
