Hi

Recently i bought a 18" arowana from a friend. He is only eating chicken pieces. I tried different other things but it wont go for any thing.
Can some budy guide me how to make him eat pallets and other feed.

Try to insert the pellets inside the chicken meat. It will soon have a taste for pellets. Then try with just the pellets if it will take it without the chicken meat. It may take time but works with my aro and other fish when I train them to eat pellets. Also have you tried prawn/shrimps?

thanks I will try to follow the trick. may be i get lucky.
I have tried dried worms but no luck. i will try shrimps today.

First step stop feeding chicken, second step only feed pellets. Be patient and your aro will be eating pellets.

I have never fed my fish chicken chunks before, the person who gave me aro he fed aro only chicken chunks.
I observed aro for two days he wont eat any pallet or blood worms.
Since yesterday I am giving him chicken chunk and put inside pallets so far he is eating this chick + pallet food.

One question I bought dried shrimps for the first time and it has a very strong smell, if i touch it smell wont go from my hands for some time.
my fish are not eating it they check it and leave. Are these shrimps OK ? I mean these dried shrimps have a strong smell ?

Thanks

Just curious, what made you think feeding your Silver Aro or any fish for that matter "chicken chunks" would be a good idea???

Oh, I got this one........ Money
I'll bet anything, chicken is cheaper than any other meat in his area. I feed my black Tilapia for one reason it's the cheapest source of protein in my area. If cat food was cheaper then it would be eating that.

The shrimp sounds bad, pitch it. Get fresh or frozen market shrimp. Take the shell off and drop it in front of the aro. Mine love it. Tilapia is good too or any fresh or frozen fish. I buy frozen Tilapia fillets and cut them into long strips so I can hand feed and still keep my fingers.
