chicken eating silver arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes its funny and very difficult for me to feed arowana. My oscars get crazy and try to snatch chicken.
Hope fully this drama will end in a day or two.

Hell, keep feeding it chicken. I'm certain no one has ever tested this so you might as well be the first. Only feed chicken and see how healthy the fish turns out. A lot of people will tell you they don't eat chicken in the wild bla bla bla but no one has ever tested (science) this. Personally I think protein is protein no matter how you cut it! May have more or less fat but it's all the same. Chicken is very lean so it's probably healthy for the fish, again no one has ever tested this so I'm just speculating. The flamers that follow this post are also just speculating.........

Well the problem is this aro is just like a pet, he wont eat any thing from the bottom. So i have to drop the chicken chunk infront of him. He is a healthy fish and as per his previous owner he gained size from 6" to 18" with in a year. Another problem is chicken make mess in the aquarium when oscars start snatching the chunks.

Try your finger, I'm sure that he'll take that instead.

Lawl but seriously this is so funny.

Have you tried chicken nuggets?!?

Hahahaa sorry I couldn't stop myself. But on a serious note, what king el said would probably be the best idea, aside from that-I'm not sure if your up for this-be it whatever reason-but live food are always tempting for aros, blackworms, feeder fish (guppies) or defected goldfish could work.

Aside from that probably frozen cut fish?

I have to say, this guy has smart replies for everything. Not a bad idea at all. Chicken is the staple food of MY diet anyhow.. :)

To suggest feeding only one food type and not a varied diet is bad advice, no matter what the food type. If you are only going to feed chicken at least soak it in a multi vitamin, and stuff it with a quality pellet before feeding.

stay away from the shrimp. Chicken sounds good. Low fat high protien. A wild aro wouldn't target shrimp, but would pick the occasional bird off an overhanging limb. Shrimp are very high in cholesterol. Not good for your aro.
