Chicken I found on the side of the freeway

Cool. I'd like to have chickens but it gets way too cold (or hot sometimes) for chickens. And I'm not going to keep one inside.:D

I'm from NH, and a lot of people around here have chickens just for the fresh eggs. The chickens stay outside year round. They just put like a 60w incadescent bulb in the coop. The chickens still leave the coop even on the coldest day. It also gets very hot up here, in the summer time, as well. Point being, get the right breed, they'll do just fine in the elements

I agree. I live in PA and my chickens like being outside all year long. Granted, they do hate the snow but not as much as my Guinea Fowl do. They do have a few cold weather breeds that do well in winter such as my Barred Rocks.
