Any idea of what kind of peacock bass?

Looks like a well tanned bass (joke)

Best to get a better lighter pic of bass, pretty hard to see what type of bass it is with that pic

This is another peacock but from the same place and their colors are very dull

Hard to see but looks like an ocellaris to me, or a mono/ocell

What could I do to make the color less dull?

It'll depend on the basses mood, their colours will go darker/lighter due to their mood and surroundings. How long have you had it? If not that long it'll need some time to adjust to new tank and once it feels comfortable it's colours should pop

And also I've had these fish for about 7 months and their color has never quite "popped" even though my water parameters are fine and there really is nothing stressing them out. But I tell you their appetite is like none other

They can be beautiful just like the rest check my past photos I had some giant hybrids they were beautiful
