it's really what you enjoy looking at. I have seen tanks with plastic plants and sunken ships and the fish seem happy. wild fish can feel more comfortable in a biotope but it's not a must. just remember that the more hiding places they have the more they will stay in the open.

Ok thats what I wanted to hear because a few years I saw this volcano with multicolored bubbling sand that shot up and back down into the volcano and the tank had a prehistoric theme to it at a fish store.
