P. Saulosi would be great in that tank. A colony of 2m 6-8fm would look good. I kind of agree with taking the fake plants out lol

Just checked in, I recommended the same thing! They are great starter mbuna!

The fake plants stay. My wife wanted them. I know better than to change the only thing my wife added. I added some more rocks.

Does it have enough for saulosi?

Let me know what you think.

Had fake at first, Java fern looks much better. If you add the Java early they (or at least mine) they don't touch it

i like the plants-they provide a feeling of safety and security to the fish.. i think some lake tang fish would look great.. julies, leleupi, or lamp ocellatus would be great ..

if you want lake malawi i would go with a mix of saulosi's-youll get yellows and blue coloration in there..

id personally go with julies

I'd go with this, they are probably my favorite species of African cichlid. Very fun to watch, full of personality and active

If he gets africans, hes gonna need higher PH with them. So he may have to re-do the substrate or soemthing.

I have 15# of crushed coral on floor mixed with stones and gravel under. I only have the few coral rock pieces but I have been holding at 8 ph. My tap water is a solid 8 as well. Is that a good ph for africans.

indy tap water is african cichlid gold. Have no fear. My tap is almost 9.

Salousi are prefect, and the local breeder I sent you have some of the best I have ever seen in person.

Sand is great since these guys all dig. You will not need to buffer the water at all. Start coming to Indycichlidclub stuff and we will get you set for a life of MTS!

Thanks for all the advice I finally got my fish on Saturday. I went with 2 males and 6 females. They are fun to watch and they are very lively.

The second male is still pretty yellow but I am confident as he gets a little older he should get a little more color.

Thanks Again

The Dominant Male

Couple of his LADIES.
