Children and Rays in the home

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've never had one of my 4 boys try to get into the tank, but I do have latches on it to keep the arowanas from jumping out. My 1 year old put the TV remote in the sump the other day and then started pulling all the K1 media out and throwing it on the floor. The remote still worked too. It was in there for less than a minute. Now my 1 yr old shakes his head from side to side and says"No, no, no, no,no,no, no"
That's what happen for me 20 years ago. When i start to interested in fish. We had a pond with arapaima, and gourami. I jump in and swam with them.

I was going to say don't worry about it at all, but had to remind myself I know 0 about kids. As for whether they go out of their way to sting the answer is no in my experience. I've only had my small female swipe at my algae scrubber handle once but that was just cuz my girlfriend was being impatient. I think it's really last resort, generally they don't even spook for ppl anymore. If someone has an aggressive ray that tries to attack you when you are in the tank plz share. Knowing you I think you'd be happy to make a canopy anyway lol.
