Chill A Coke In 2 Minutes!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like to put peanuts in my coke.

It's simple. Adding salt to water will brine it. This is what we do at the bait and tackle shop to keep fresh bunker harder if neccessary. The salt actually will lower the temperature of the water another 10 degrees! If you don't believe it just do it yourself!. Put some ice in water. Alot of ice...add salt..Cover the salt/water and then come back about 15-20 minutes. Feel thwe water...ITS SO COLD! The Ice will actually cling to the other ice cubes.

It's all science!

Another way to chill a coke is to roll it on an Ice Block for 2 minutes. This is what my buddy did over in Iraq when they wanted an ice cold coke!

its higschool chemistry
most solutes added to a solvent (water in this case) will cause the solvents boiling temp to raise and frezzing point to lower. this is cause by lowering the solutions vaporization point. there fore creating the need for more energy to be used to raise or lower the solution.

i now have a headache

lol.. that wasnt even the 2nd law of thermodynamics wasnt it ..,

anyway, they use salt on ice for making ice cream too, when you need to have an extremely fast drop in temp to solidify the cream. It just speeds up the transfer of heat from the coke(warm) into the ice bath(cold) because the ice with salt just lowers the specific heat so it takes less time for the same energy to heat or cool down the ice bath. basically water has pretty high specific heat so it takes a little longer for it to to absorb the heat from coke.

i think the temp of the ice should pretty much be the same but its all about the time it takes to transfer-absorb heat better which is what allthe dilio is about. it feels colder because it heat from your body gets trasnfered to ice bath in less time so you lose more heat in the same time period as you would with regular ice

Just do what I use to do, "borrow" a fire extinguisher and SUPERRRR CCCHHHIIILLLL Everything. Takes about 30 seconds.

Riddle me this M|L.. Why does water freeze quicker when it's hot
i.e : Boiling water will freeze alot quicker than water out of your tap..

ok....for those of you who missed chemistry class...........

the mixture of salt, saltwater and ice has an equilbium temperature of approx -20C. just as ice and water are roughly 0C.........

google phase diagrams

I know the answer...I just can't explain it without giving myself a headache.
