it would look SICK if you had a 200 gallon long with a school of trout. and you replicate a stream >.< man i want to do that

I hope you downsize that to minnows that look like trout. Trout need a lot of space, high oxygen and cold water. Not to mention they are picky eaters. There is no way you can keep a school at 200 gallon. The smallest home tank I seen for a few trout is about 800 gallons. Sure you can put them in smaller ones, but they outgrow them.

What kind of cats? Are they easy to find out there? I would be willing to make that short trip for some bullheads. It beats trying to smuggle some up here only to have them die in route.

I know in Alberta we have brown bullheads and stonecats. If you live in Alberta, you should be able to get them locally. However, you don't see them mentioned since anglers don't go after them.

I have read several reports of black and brown bullheads in Alberta.but can not find any proof or anyone to back that up.All I need is a location and I'm there.Oh yeah and some goo weather would be nice too.lol

from what i know...and its not much....lol......there is limited cats here inthe south Saskatchewan and north saskatchewan. as to the size...i don't think they are as big as in the USA. i have read and heard that the Qu'Appelle river system has lots cats. Bullheads and burbot are abundent here.

I never seen live one before in real life. Again, I never seen a burbot either... or a lake trout... but we have them in Alberta.

I read that Channel Catfish and Black Bullhead can be found in the Milk River in southern Alberta. I have heard people catching bullheads in the Bow River, but you might want to avoid that since it has mercury problems. As far as the Internet go, it is not very useful for finding locations near you since a lot of are centered around the States.

I have been doing some research and planning the last few days.I am going down to Writing-On-Stone Provincal Park for May long weekend to see what I can get.I believe there are black crappie in the Milk River too.I plan to do some hook and line fishing as well as set out some minnow traps and use my casting net.I really want to score some stonecats, bullheads, and a crappie would be nice too.
