Not what I heard... They thought he had lyme, which can cause them to be very anxious, and have delusions.
It actually mentions it in one of the links...
Very sad reminder of why we should not treat animals like humans.

They were talking about that one the news. But then also interviewed some primate expert at a zoo and she said something along the lines of 'the animal has the potential to act violent with or without lyme' ....provides a good point. No matter how you look at it, its a risk and questionable ethically.

Unfortunate but a good reminder to anyone think of having pets they can not properly take care of or control.

Sad...
and mostly the reason I never want to be in close contact with any primate.
Except a tariser. :D But they can't rip your face off.

Another monkee gone bananas! :screwy: :y220d::y220d::y220d::nilly::nilly::nilly:

It's not that chimps and apes shouldn't be pets. It's that these animals aren't as domesticated as dogs and cats. The connection that people have made with apes is pretty new while connection and domestication of other mammals has been around for thousands and hundred thousands of years.

Another thing, the woman that owned it was 70 years old. I heard somewhere that chimps are about 4 times stronger than the average man. Now picture a 70 year old granny trying to fight with a chimp. Unless she's one of those grannies that hits wieghts everyday, she's wasn't going to win.

To me the only said part is the chimp died. No one shoud be allowed to own one. "they hope no charges will be filed" wtf ??? But the guy with the snakehead is in trouble.

"After a while, Captain Conklin said, Travis returned and “went after the officers.” He knocked a mirror off the passenger’s side of a police cruiser with one swing of his arm, then ran around to the driver’s side, opened the door and attacked the officer in the driver’s seat"

LOL I would have paid to see that!

LOL i agree. if the chimp didnt attack the officer it wouldnt be killed. and it ripped somebody's face off. but the Snakehead is getting the death penalty for being alive.
:WTF:

Yea about the snakehead thing...this chimp was grandfathered in many years ago when the strict laws were enacted. Very lame to see the snakehead not be treated the same, and it lives in a glass box.

i heard the 9-11 call made my the chimps owner and it was kind of disturbing/funny at the same time. the owner is freaking out and in the backround you can hear the chimp yelling
