I would say it can be done.. They are usually the suggested Sucker to keep with African Cichlids for there capabilities of being aggressive enough back to there aggressors that the aggressors in my experience and opinion decide that it is not in their best interest to be mean to them though, I have never seen one do harm to a non aggressive fish But that's just my experience combined with minimal research after I adopted This one is the fifth that I have owned And this one effectlively battled and tame a VIOLENT Paratheraps (Vieja) Fenestratus
