i would've assumed magnets but honestly, i don't care, that was a cool trick. animal right activists care about gold fish now? i dont' see them buying out feeders at every pet store.

You know, watching it now, I have to wonder if there is some sort of screen on the bottom/sides of the tub, with water on top (and moves to the image). Clearly there is some mechanism under the tank (covering it up with a red cloth), and he pours the fish in awfully fast.

Of course, magnets would be a simpler option, but a couple of the black fishes seem too similar and well timed, with exact flicks of the tail and what not. It almost looks like someone copy/pasted the same fish.

The video reminds me a little bit of Jackie Chan with his trick where he seemingly called his fish and one would come over to him, and when he told it to go away, it would...

So maybe its just a matter of a lot of patience training the fish to read hand signals/signs with rewards of food?
