chocolate chip starfish regenaration question

i would like to know how to cut my CCSF in half so that i can have the two sides grow back and how long will this be?


i am wanting to do this because we are going over how animals can regenerate bady parts and all that fun stuff so i asked my science teacher if i could do that to get some extra credit cuz you know it never hurts and she said yes soooo..... how would i do thisa i am going to bring a 10 gal and all the stuff to school and have it cycle and then when its cycled at him to it and let him adjust then cut him and watch him grow back

why? the LFS i gat him from told me that they do it to their starfish to feed harlequin shrimp and sell them so why is this so unbelievable?

yes i am but just about anyone that has a reeftank has fragged a coral and they are living animals but no one ever say anything bout it
