hi all....i picked up 6 2 in guys in april from LSF. i have not seen any growth yet. they were kept in a 10 to 15 gallon tank for who knows how long. my question is how or when will i know if these fish are stunted?

I picked up mine in Feb at about 2 inches, and he/she has almost doubled in size already. i feed a mixed diet of pellets, flake, live worms, and frozen brine shrimp. It is definitely the biggest pig in my tank. what are you feeding?

cichlid pellets and frozen food. blood worm, mega tropical and krill. mine have not grown at all....all i see is there bellies full. no growth!!!!

I think that sometimes it can take up to a month or so for some fish to adjust to their new setting. Keep up with large water changes and be patient. By next month you should be able to notice some growth.

Patience. Don't freak out just yet it's not even a week into May. Got pic's of them?

I have several cichlids and they all seem to grow at different rates. I have a Carpinti and Salvini who doubled in size within a couple of months, but are now growing slowly. I also have a GT that's been growing slow since I first bought him.

I just got a choc a few weeks ago, but I got him already at about 6". He is a bit timid but has made a little den under some rocks by digging out all the sand.

I agree with the others, give it some time and they are probably getting bigger but you just don't notice as you see them all the time.

Water changes and varied diet are the key.

my chocos are coming around. they dont freak out when they see me now. they actually know that i feed them. end of may it is.....if they dont start shaping up...they are gone!!!! i will post some pics soon!!!!
