Hi ya guys, I have a issue with my chocolate cichlid . She has a issue with her gill and im trying to find out what it is and how to cure it . She is in a mixed cichlid tank with plenty of room , the water quality is really good . ive only just about 4 weeks ago moved the tank back from my friends as it was being stored there while i was between homes . i used to have two Oscars and a big parrot fish in there as well which we rescued, they were in really bad health when i got them and over a period of 3/4 months brought them back to amazing glory . However after owning them for a few years i moved the tank and while them being at my friends they all became very ill and all three got hole in the head disease and whatever we tried medical wise it didn't help and i lost them all . since i have moved the tank back and stabilized it my chocolate has got this gill issue i have placed some pictures on here and am crying out for some help to cue her, and diagnose what it is as i really don't want to loose her as well. alright tom thanks for ya reply im just doing the test as we speak . two mins and ill have them over to ya
alright tom my parameters are as follows . I was due to do a water change in 2 days time . Ammonia - 0 to 0.6 , Nitrite 0 to 0.1 , Nitrate 5 , Ph Level 7 to 7.5 and the tank temp is set to 25c and showing 25c . hope these help diagnose mate
Yes. I'm leaning towards an Aeromonas infection from what looks like fluid filled blister on the gill and the bludging eye.
1 x 4" green terror , 1 x 3" parrot fish , 2 X frontosa 1 is 6" 1 is 8" , various plecs , I think 1 X salvani cichlid 5" , 1 x vieja fenestratus 7" volume of my tank is about 330L tank but with 2 canister filters my water volume is about 400L . my tank mesures about 5 foot . hope this helps diagnose mate .
Tom do you think my levels are ok . also I don't know if its the picture but her eyes have always been like that since I have had her . I have had her about 3 years from a 2" to 3" baby and her eyes have always been like that I think since she has grow up .
