Chocolate Cichlid

No idea, he was in bad shape when I got him with 4 others, looks like the start of HITH on his left side but hasn't gotten any worse since I've had him, few others came in that way as well. They do well in groups and this seems to be the max that is allowed in the 265 at the moment for Chocolates.
I have 5inch chocolate cichlid that usually hangs out at the top of the tank (sometimes on his side). His colors are purple and light camo and the plenty of oxygen in the tank. What could it be??
They are pretty moody fish. My wife has a huge Choco that sits looking at the surface a lot, I think it might be just a natural behavior because they eat bugs in the wild. The 2 that I used to have really never did that, but interacted alot with each other. Maybe solo behavior is different.
I also have a polleni cichlid(5inch) in the tank with him, who sometimes chase after him. Could it possibly be stress?
