Cholla

Hi all! I found some dried out pieces of cholla wood at a michaels craft store. I've been soaking it and nothing seems to be leaching off of it. Wondering if this stuff will be ok for a cichlid tank. Thanks!

what kins of chiclids? chola wood isn't that dense and rots somewhat quickly, this tends to acidify your water.
SA chiclids-ok
CA or african-I wouldn't.

I'm assuming the wood isn't dyed/painted/glittered or something like that.

Thanks. Its not dyes or anything like that but they are yellow labs and blue acei. so proc no good. darn the price was right!

dyed wood, not the fish. you said they came from a craft store. dyed fish shouldn't be in any tank.

Ha ha ha! Sadly yes they actually do. Maybe not much anymore. Painted glass fish and they use to, but haven't seen in a long time, dye ompak cats blue.
