I agree no arowana should be kept in a tank that is less then 3 times it's body length. This is for arowana though, not sure why this comparison since body types are completely different. For large cichlid, 5-6 times the body is ideal 4 times should be the minimum. A 12" cichlid in a 36" tank is freaking cruel.
