Im gonna be a hypocrite. Srt6. Rare as hell and fast. Insurance isnt outrageous. Performance parts are out there but alittle expensive. But the price of the car youll do go. 165mph stock. A pulley upgrade and that speed is possible in roughly 30 sec. Top speed ungov is nearly 200mph.
Edit* forgot, you can get a na crossfire for 10k and do an engine swap for about 8k and stick a big v8 under the hood. There are a handful of guys doing this. Sleeper!!
I still say go slow and safe but im a walking hypocrite. Trust me, you dont know how to drive yet. Wait until you pitch a car sideways at 80 with a stream about a foot off the road. You already over estimate ur driving skill by far(all youth does including me) and a fast car just makes it worse. Iv done stuff that you gotta say wtf to. Blowing through a 4 way at 130 is dumb. 115mph regularly on highway is dumb. Not that I did that stuff. :grinno:
just be safe and enjoy!!

Agree to those above. Its better safe than sorry. Start small and if you want something more sporty then get one in the future as you progress.

For some reason, at 16 stuff like this goes in one ear and out the other. I remember being told similar things about my pos. The thing is, if you're an idiot, 80 or 800 hp, you'll find a way to wreck it, I bet being a 16 yo living in BH, he doesn't care to hear any of this. I say live it up as much as you can.

If you have to pay for the maintenance, why would you want a European car? If you want something different and your budget is 20-25K (sorry about the 40k thing, just going off what someone else said, which is a stupid thing to do) and you're not worried about wrecking the car, I'd go for a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT ('09 GXP would be out of the price range). I want one so bad. "Euro styling" without the expensive maintenance or parts. Wish they would have kept the Holden Commodore front bumper, though. I'll quit pushing domestics on you after this :D

2011 KIA optima gdi turbo, I drove one of these from Virginia to indiana and it was fantastic. I couldn't believe it was a 4cyl, I was convinced it was a v6 until we opened the hood. Fast, comfortable, new, reliable, looks great and cheap maintenance. The manual shift mode is perfect, instant smooth shifting up or down whenever you want. If I had 20k for a car, definitely an optima gdi turbo.

Today I took my car for an oil change, new transmission fluid, new oil pan, and basic checks and tune up.....almost $500 at the infiniti dealership.

Expect to pay that or more for luxury cars.
