I really don't see the appeal of TSN/RTC hybrids. what makes them so special?

You know, at first I didn't either...then I picked one up for $20 at the lfs and I soon figured out why...they have the best qualities of each species, love to be hand fed, are tenacious as all hell, and are drop dead sexy fish. :naughty:

The major appeal of the hybrids is the vigor I think. Most of us round here love ]v[onster cats and the hybrids get to be ]v[onsters in half time. They're also a combination of the most beloved cats and usually have the best personality traits of both. They are usually very personable and fairly active pluses in my book. Plus they look good! Mine is okay, but a little too jumpy for my tastes. He bounces all over the tank if he's spooked threatening to break my tank. My pure bred RTC wasn't like that in the least I think it's a trait of the Shovelnose.

Both of mine did that when they were smaller, now they are bumps on a logg and don't spaz out... still active but not spazzy like when I first got them

How big is your's now mine is about 12" and still a spaz. He's one of my favorites cause when he's patrolin the tank only one fish looks as good as him and that's the Juruense. Both these fish look awesome when searchin out food.

Mine has lots of tankmates but they're all hiders. It's whack since I think they're affectin all my cats. My gulpers hide as well, I think it's a case of monkey see monkey do. Oh well watcha gonna do. I'm stoked though since I'm gonna get a tiny RTC. He's like 1". Hopefully I can keep him alive I'll also be pickin up a hybrid around the same size. I really can't wait for friday though I'll be trekin to shark aquarium an see if I can pick up sumthin good.
