Why does life have to throw these type of situations to me!?

My gf was out of town last weekend so we didn't get to hang out. Well she is back and wants to hang out and do stuff on my days off. Off Friday and Saturday. She works, but is off by 5pm Friday and 2pm Saturday.

Well a friend asked if I wanted to go to some kind of event for the ohio state buckeyes...idk the mayor and head coach will be there. I went to the tailgates, so it makes sense to go. Its at 5pm on Friday. well the said friend will more than likely want to get drunk afterwards with some other guys friends. Back in the day (18, 19,20) I would have. I'm 23 now and just don't want to get wasted and have my Saturday ruined because of it. I just would rather do a million and 1 other things than that. I just don't get the mentality of getting drunk and forgetting what happened or the next day dealing with a hangover.

My gf thinks I should spend time with her...don't blame her. Then again I know the friend isn't going to be too happy. What to do..what to do!?

Does this ever happen to you other guys?

How serious with the girlfriend are you?

Well if you don't want to go tailgating and get drunk then don't. I doubt your friend would care much after he starts drinking. I would go hang out with my girl if that's what you want to do.

I'm no counsiler but spend all the time you can with her up until the event, then after spend more time with her. This is a win win situation that makes everyone happy. My girlfriend does this to me 24/7 I think she does it on purpose lol. Hope this helped!

Do you have a twin that can stand in?
You can always tell your friend that your coming down late. When you see him next just say, "ya, I was there. You don't remember? You were wasted."
