Christmas gift for my Niece

One more thing: if you pack it down, there’s less of a chance of the substrate going into the geckos mouth since it’s more like a dirt and not so fluffy. Also, a small jar lid serves as a perfect food dish for non live foods.

I was actually thinking about maybe putting some of the food in something like a Gatorade lid and putting on the bottom for him. Because I have a food dish ledge I bought for him that holds the little nyquil sized cups in it and thats where the Pangea food mix is, but I was thinking putting some on the bottom in a lid might be easier for him right now being so small. I can tell he has found the food ledge because there's a foot print in the food, but I don't want the little guy to do a faceplant into the ledge dish tryin to reach down into it lol

How’s the humidity issue going for ya?

It's staying up somewhat higher now that the top is covered. Not as high as I have read it should be, but stays up around 35-45% now. Still misting it often. Haven't had a chance to get the substrate yet but should be able to get there this weekend and grab a bag so that should help.

He's doing well and eating which is good. I turned the light on the other night to see if he was out and he was on his ledge flicking his tongue down into the food dish so good to know he's eating now.

I’ve read up on reptiles in the past and a common solution I seem to see is to add a water dish. Perhaps it will work if the substrate doesn’t bring it up to where you want it.
