Christmas presents FOR your fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My fish all had a festive mix of spirulina flakes and bloodworms for Christmas dinner :D.

My Goldenhead Arowana got a new 325 gallon tank for Xmas :) -- which is more than my 12-yr. old daughter got, sad as that may sound (but it's ok, Xmas isn't super big here, she'll get more during New Years :)

Since im still young enough to receive presents from my parents and family, my "wish list" is all fish stuff. This year I asked for a big bottle of Prime, a bunch of plants, those underwater gallery cichlid stones, more filter media, and all my little cousins went out to local lakes and streams to collect driftwood and rocks which I will make sure is fish safe. My fish have taken over my life 1000%
lol your me, i became that afew months ago, sadly my family dont celebrate Christmas, and i am lacking on money really badly, now i struggle to keep my 120 running and stocking it

i cant afford to feed my fish frozen foods at all. never once in the past 4 months

Since my birthday is close to Christmas I get presents for Christmas and money for my birthday from my family. Since I spend all lot of money for presents for my family, the birthday money helps and some goes to my pets.

I am going to get a couple more companions for my schooling fish. Lamplight killis, Habrosus Cories, Cardinal Tetras, Red Rasboras, wagtail platies.
While these may barely be a snack for some of your monster fish. I also have large cichlids, and Bichirs (in other tanks) that I think qualify me for this club.
I am also getting more plants and a Cannister filter for my newest tank. I have several for my other tanks and eventually want to have most of my aquariums outfitted with them.
I did water changes a couple days before Christmas, before I headed out for holidays.

Nice idea for a thread.! Once you have used that bottle of Prime, I would consider switching to Safe. It is exactly the same thing, (you can tell by that wonderful bouquet of a smell) made by the same company, (Seachem labs) but it is in dry concentrated form. A 50g bottle runs about $10 and treats 1,200 gallons. It comes with a little plastic measuring spoon. I bought a set of micro measuring spoons for 5 bucks. Add it to your water change water. For the same price as premixed Prime, you go a lot longer time with a bottle of Safe. (Last me 6 months and I have a few tanks) So you save money and the time it takes going out to get those multiple bottles of Prime.
If you have problems figuring out dosing measurements, contact the company, me or most anyone on this forum may be happy to help you. Seems like a helpful group if people in this organization.

My Christmas stuff for my fish is somewhere here in this thread.

Anyone else get Christmas presents for your fish?

To be clear, I don't mean fish-related Christmas presents for yourself, I mean presents for the fish you already have.

I got mine a bunch of live blackworms. They absolutely go bananas for them, but they're cost prohibitive for a normal thing - hence a present :)
Great idea for a thread. My fish Christmas presents are on a post somewhere close to here.
