Lets all assume for a moment the chupacabra exists. I just came up with a technically possible idea on how it could exist, but no one can ever find one.

What if the chupacabra wasn't a mammal/reptile, and was a terrestrial, highly adapted species of mimic octopus? If you've ever seen a mimic octopus, they can change shape, by moving around the tenticles, to mimic another creature. Another thing an octopus can do is change skin color AND texture, so it could make itself look like a rock, and or plant. And if an octopus eats something with tough skin it leaves a skin husk, which is somewhat chupacabra-ish.

Not saying this is true, or that it exists, but it's an idea.

Pic related, it's an octopus doing the color change/texture thing.
