^^^dang hugh, why dont you setup a drip?

I do 240-350gals of wc a week on my 225g. Trying to reduce my stock so i can have more time for me :) one of these days i'll set up a drip.....gotta move first.

Tap and prime or Novaqua for me right now.

Gangster, I'm thinking of setting up a drip. Do you have a doser on your system?

I use R/O water on all my tank.. kept lots of nice cichla like orino, F0&F1 kelberis, brokos, etc etc. only reason I use R/O water for the second chamber (deionization) which removes some nitrate from the water- out of my tap my water has about 30ppm nitrate, through the R/O its down to about 10ppm. You can buy a mix online thats basically a can full of R/O minerals to add back in your water. Its worth noting though, aquarium R/O systems are very different then from, a drinking system type of R/O. They remove mostly harmful minerals, but do leave in many good minerals.. Oh, and be careful acclimating fish into R/O water, its likely that the TDS are very different. I've never had any problems but just something I've "heard".
