Hey all,
so once again I've got this itch for my 310 (7x3x2) future stock once I move my natives to their pond this spring.

I am, for some reason, being drawn to looking into PB's lately, and I was wondering which species would do well in the tank for life? The smallest species preferably as I may have some questionably smaller tankmates and I'm not looking at serving more $50-$100 live sushi anymore (RIP odoe and congrats surprisingly fast delhezi...)

I am just throwing out a feeler thread at this point as the stock isn't completely set in stone except for my polys who will be heading into the tank so I thought I'd get the "cream" people's perspectives.

Thanks!

Intermedias are the smallest species by far and kelberi are the second smallest species but still can get large.
Well kels are probably my only option as I don't see myself shelling out the cash for an intermedia haha. Do they get too large though? I don't want them being uncomfortable in the tank at any point.

How about Azul + Temnesis + Kelberi in 3 to 4 inch range. Fast swimmers and I am sure can repel delhezi away if needs to be
haha oh no I'm not worried about the bass, I'm worried about the other tank mates after the bass get larger haha. And ya my odoe pike was 4 inches and fast as all get out....that didn't stop the delhezi at all lol.

Man treat yourself to the Intermedia. You only live once and once it is set up you may find yourself wishing that you had one.
BTW Discus Origins which is a vendor on MFK currently have 2' Intermedia for $150.00. I know they have steep prices but maybe they will work with you.

haha maaaaaan twisting my arm...next thing I know I'll have $300 worth of fish in my tank I wasn't even sure of getting!

My favorites are orinos. Get whichever ones appeal to you

Its not the appealing factor so much as it is the overall size of the fish. Like I said I have a 3 foot wide tank, and I don't want to get a species of pbass that's going to be crowded in there.
