Cichla gettin crazy!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you have a garage get an acrylic upgrade!
I live up in the mountains in the snow....it gets really cold.
My tanks are in the garage. My acrylic tank holds the heat really well. The glass tank doesnt retain the tank nearly as much.
You can put foam insulation board on the sides and back to help w/ heat.
Look on craigslist for some upgrades..you can get em cheap if you have cash and look everyday. You'll find a day eventually.

Now....How big is your buddies tank?
Did he pay for one of the yucao's?
If not you dont owe him a thing...
Bass are spendy and take time to raise. Enjoy your fish.

Thank you for the advice! My buddies tank is a 210 same dimensions as mine but 24" deep instead of 17" like mine. He a few fish in there along with my kelberi and oscar that I gave him. I'm trying to convert him to have just cichla and the oscar in there. I don't mind giving it to him I don't have the proper tank space at the moment to keep all 3 of these guys comfortable. I'm going to try for that Rubbermaid container or the an acrylic if I can afford it.

Temps are 75 degrees now. Should be good. They seem to be doing just fine.Just a bit slower then when the temps were higher, expected that.

An acyrlic tank will be easier to keep heated than that rubbermaid tub.
Search craigslist for a new tank.
