I real want to put my pins in my out door pond but I'm afraid of them jumping out. How likely are they to jump out if they get spooked? I know I can put bird netting over the pond to prevent this but it's so ugly lol

Ive thought about doing this too but the fence would be really dangerous. If you got a roll of windscreen and put it around the inside it could help. But then you'd have to worry about the temp changes from day to day because wild fish go deeper as the temps get too hot or cold. As far as them jumping out you could either get a tall fence and only put it half way in the water or put a screen over the top like u said.

I'm not too worried about temps. I have a cover for nights if it gets to cold. And if the days are to hot and shade isn't sufficient, I could have a slow trickle from the hose to cool it down.

I use a mesh tarp on my pond in the garage, they breath and look pretty good and let light through. You can get them at harbor freight.

Idk about them jumping....but you should be more worried bout me fishing them out.

I would get some sort of cover for it bro whether it is a net or a fence around it. My gf's aunt has a koi pond and before she put a net over it, she lost many koi due to cats and birds of prey.

While they certainly are capable of jumping out if spooked, i would be more worried about predators.

Wow, so we do have bird of prey in vegas. I always thought our birds are quite small pansys
