guppy for $5 buck.. wow!! that's expensive. When you get them in, start feeding them blood worm. Its cheaper and they love it.

About the water change, 50% at the most, never 70%.

have you tried buying feeders from the vendors here?? i sure they can ship them to you but at cost??

your water change doesnt have to be that much...for my 100g with 6 cichla i do a 25-35% WC every week, and i just keep the water as clean as possible.

good luck with your cichla rasing!!

I have kept fish throught the years, i think i know my waterchangeing system, i feed a lot and my filteration isnt great so the fish need the whole 50%-60% a week.

Jinro: No i havent but shipping only is $500 last time i knew (before icelandic financial crysis).
I am thinking of trying bloodworms from start.

Hi Guys new to all this, I got 2 teminis as a gift from my gf, she paid a pretty penny for them, I've had them for about 10 months and have almost out grown my 180 gallon tank from a 2" fry. I used to feed them blood worms but like to stay away from the live stuff. I feed them hikari food sticks awesome stuff great colors on the fish and easy on the wallet. Good to watch as they smash the surface and they do eat heaps.

Just take this advice an start your own thread alot of guys on here no alot more than me but they wont answer you questions in someone else's thread I think its called "threadjacking" or something just post your own an Im sure you will get all the answers you will ever need.

I have 2 occelaris I just bought yesterday an I think I'm guna love'm there colors are great like the mono's but there easier to find. In my experiance anyways.

for you it must definetly be worth raising your own feeders more than just about anyone else. i get feeders 10 for $1.19 and even at that price they would kill my cash pretty quick. so i looked and got lucky by finding an alternative way to getting feeders that doesnt cost me anything. i have 4 ocells about 4.5" to 5" and i lose track of how much they can eat but im sure they can 100 plus feeder guppies throughout one day. since i dont know how long i will have guppies like this for i also feed my fish pret food they lik shrip and fish filets, they like it when it cut into strips and i through it at the surface one by one.
