Alrighty Cichla Beast! Im getting back into the Cichla Game, I got back the 1 wild orino my uncle kept for me and the orino is an inch bigger and in girth. My new pinima is thinner and and inch smaller...lately Ive seen my orino flaring and bashing the lil pinima to the corner non stop. Will it ever end? My pinima is not fighting back just getting bullied. :irked: First time I seen my cichlas like this... its making me think Imma lose the pinima. I don't have any other holding tanks available. The lil dorado is taking the whole 30 gallon to itself. If I put the pinima their its gunna it the lil guy :nilly: Please help yu guys...Help a cichla addict now....

Orinos are mean. Mine did the same thing, the only thing ive found is add more cichla to the tank. The Orino will still pick on everyone, but atleast it will be spread around and not focused on one fish. It might also be beneficial to put a bass in the tank that is slightly larger than the Orino. I have one Orino that is mean as hell and this method is the only thing I found that chilled him out a little.

I see...So by adding more yur spreading the aggression to the rest...just like cichlids right? hmmm I need more cichlas then but no more money to spend on cichlas till after New years :( Im screwed...

To save your Pinima you might consider divding them temporarily. That Orino intends to kill him from the sound of his level of aggro. He may be doing more than establishing dominance, he may be thinning the herd so that he gets more food :WHOA:

your answer is yes!

cichla are always picking on something and when there is only one fish in there, guess who the target is? lol .. feel bad for the little guy but what are you going to do, it's nature. i try to spot feed the one that is getting hustled and sometime even a couple of times a day to give him more energy, recouperate and gain a little size. sometimes this helps along with lots of water changes.

well right now their all in a 4'x18"x21". And in the tank is the 4" Pinima, 5" Orino, 6" Male Dovii, 4" Indo Tiger...the male dovii seems to not bother with any of my fish except the indo tiger...they chase eachother every now and then but no biting. :nilly: I need to find a egg crate fast....:irked:

He is aggro...that lil orino is already biting and flaring at my arm and fingers....:screwy: he will sometimes flare at the male dovii who is longer and bigger in girth :nilly: gosh this orino... well I'll try finding a fitting divider

if not cichlas then some other dither fish that is about the same size as your pins...maybe some tiger barbs or something that should also do the trick. and if not then the divider thing should do...you gotta remember your pin will soon out grow your orino and hopefully lessen the aggression.
