Wow, do cichla get lighter when there is better lighting and more plant cover?

That seems to be the case, in my experience. I've been lucky with my tank as everything I put in it turns to a gem. Seriously, I've never had an unstable dat, cichla, anything. I guess it pays to keep the fish comfortable.
