Cichla outdoors

I would only put them out in the warmer months otherwise they're going to end up dying. This has already been done when they were introduced in the states and the only place they made it was Florida.

They won't make it ken.
Remember the cold snap a few years ago in Florida? There was a big cichla die off. I wouldn't wanna see it lower than 70. A green house with all those tropical plants would be a sight to see. Just build it Ken. Your fish will thank you.

Your at the limit now Ken. You could try some hybrids,monos, or ocellaris. My hybrids survived last winter but had pretty bad fin damage and I'm near Tampa,FL near the ocean which stays warmer than inlanf

Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like putting them outside is not a good idea unless some protection is implemented. A green house is out of the question because the pond is near the front of the house. The house architectual design will be greatly affected.
