Will I be able to fit what I need under that stand?
And that's a big fat NO!!!!..Like i say keep an opened mind other wise you will not have a good experience and alot of dead and sick fish!!!!!

I'm gonna set it up right, or I wouldn't do it at all. That room has plenty of space for whatever I need to do. I'll just keep asking questions, no matter how green they are.
P.S. I've been reading your Ultimate Filtration thread. I'm sure that's gonna help tremendously!

Tomka, I bought the same filter hulon and ken use and I will tell you with out a shadow of a dought that the fish in that aquarium are the healthiest and the damn thing is so easy to backflush which cleans your filter and drains your tank for water change at the same time, it cant get any easier than that. I couldnt be happier with my purchase, I am actually thinking about getting a second one for my 265 gallon and selling off my canisters.

What I do for a living is a little known industry that grew during the bad economy (which coincidentally was the same time period as the "green movement") I sell used cardboard boxes-I used some to serve as a temporary stand for 2 of the tanks! They are half the price of new ones, and it is better for the environment to re-use a box... It'll get recycled eventually even if it is used 5 times! We save ma & pa companies enough money to improve their bottom line & help them stay in business during tough times, and we sell some of the largest retailers in the country boxes to distribute to their stores in.

Very cool and great idea tomka! Way to keep it green. Glad to have ya w/ us cichla nerds.

For filtration send a pm to kendragon and let him know your stock ideas and tank. He is a master for filtration. And Hugh is right. Gotta evolve w/ your fish as they grow.

And those rays...that pearl in particular are to die for. Nice pick ups!

Thanks- I call the pearl "arrowhead" because the top of his head looks like one.(and I really like how consistent his markings are) Kendragon has been kind enough to communicate with me & has helped already. Hulon also filled me in on how to do it right; i should even have enough filtration to go bigger when I need to! I got a (1) Bio Wave Filter-19" (1) Bio Glass Filter 19", 2 115 pumps, (1) 58W U-V light (2 bulbs) & (1) blower.
