Things went a little differently than planned... Isn't that always the case! My pup Black Diamond female was suppose to go in a 75 I had ready, but it had a nitrite reading of .25 today, so I put her in the 55 gallon where the tem & 3 Xingu were. I decided it was the best option to graduate them to the 400+ gallon tank I just put the pearl ray in... They have to be loving all that space! I just hope they are big enough that the pearl isn't a threat to them! In the picture of the bass you can see how in cloudy water their predators get confused by the eyes & ocelots.

Thanks Tydus & lovethemfish... I'll have some pictures this weekend of the room with the racks done, tanks in place & running, & electrical completed.
 
I have a few issues I'm just gonna throw out there & hope some of you can give some advice.

(1) My 75 gallon tank has 4 WC kels in it is reading 5.0 nitrite. I had added a lot of biomax into the 110's on it & I think that may be causing the spike. I don't want to chance losing those fish so I think I should take them out & bring them back to my home tank.
(2) My new BD pup was suppose to go in that 75- that's why I added all the bio to handle the load, but b/c of the nitrite issue, I put her in my 55 which has all water readings good... BUT that tank only has a fluval 70 on it which isn't much filtration at all. Is she going to be alright in there for the time being?
(3) My 420 gallon I moved the Xingu & tem into so I could put the pup into the 55 they were in. They are in with the pearl ray adult. The ray is having a blast in the sand, but making the water a mess! I'm doing water changes every day (thank god for the filter Ken- I t empties 200 gallons in like 5-10 minutes!) & the levels are maintaining. Should I be concerned with this situation?

* What makes all this tough is I have to leave work (which is where the cichla room is) & come home & worry, but it is what it is!
 
Witch part are you concerned with the high nitrite???Looks to be the end of a cycle ...Just keep doing water changes small ones and use your declor as a bit of a buffer from the high nitrite ....
 
Do a big water change on the 75g and monitor your nitrites.....and if it persists I would add one of the 110's to the 55g and move the kelbs over to the 55g, and whats going on with the water in the 420g is it getting cloudy because of sand or what? If its just cloudy because of the sand try adding a powerhead to direct the water to your filter input.

Put the Kelbs in with the BD pup & add one of the 110's to the 55? that's not a bad idea, but I worry about the pup. Did you realize she is in there? The water is cloudy due to the sand. I have a power head but only my biological filter is running right now so I don't really have much filtration to help with the cloudiness except my water changes...
