IF you could find one of the few people with Xingu here in the states willing to sell you can bet it will be at least $500 per fish. I had the opportunity to get some about 9 months ago and could kick myself for not jumping on them.

actually an importir in indonesia claimed that he juz receive a batch of xingu and trombetas...so what do u guys think is it true??? he also claim that he have a 40cm cichla intermedia....i kinda worry that i maybe conned as small pbs looks the same n i dun know how juvenile xingu n trombetas looks like...

Boy that sounds to good to be true.If u can get pics from him that would be great.Them are def. the rare ones people would love to get there hands on.Might be worth buying and growing them out.GL

hes in a another city actually....been trying to contact him for 2 days...damn....

I've seen trombetas also called lower amazonas and vice versa. Several people on the boards have lower amazonas cichla most of which are juveniles at the moment. I haven't seen anyone on this board or the overseas boards with pics of their Xingu pbass although I've seen many vendors overseas that sell xingu pbass specifically one out of germany and one out of japan ~Trent

Lower Amazons are not trombetas... They are pinima... Pinima are found in in the lower part of the Tapajos.

Vazzoleri are found in the Rio Trombetas...

They look close to each other, but the localities give them away.
