Hey guys I was thinking about getting 2 or 4 of these guys cause i know they turn out great as adults and was wondering what would be the minimum tank and proper way to take care of these guys. Also is $10 a good deal for 3"

TEN bucks??????!!!!!
dude the cheapest tems in oz i've seen was 200bucks and it was only slightly bigga than 2"....
so hard to get anything in this country. even if you can, you'll be paying with your kidney. get them man, get them man, cheap. even if it a low quality, and send me a couple too lol.
oh and just an update of our goverment policy. they are going to ban all american cichlids, make it even more hard to get them basses.

sorry just having a whinge.:cry::cry::cry:

If these are your first pbass the basic guidelines are, temp 84-90, ph 6-7 and keep the water quality really good with regular water changes. Feed them plenty and vary their diet as much as possible. You would be better growing them out in a bigger tank, they grow fast and you don't want to stunt them. Eventually you'll need at least a 10'x4'x30" for some adults. Good luck with them they are stunning fish.

temp 84-90? is that normal for cichla?

I've been keeping mine around 80. What temp do other people keep them at?

id bump your temp if i were you 87-90, cichla like the warm water and it keeps them less susceptible to diseases.
