CICHLA vs. 6 inch SUNFISH!!!!

I don't see any bluegill in your green. They both have blue on their lower jaw and gill region. Lots of sunfishes do despite the bluegill having the name. The hybrid is much more rounded then your fish as well, if I caught your fish I would have no doubt of it's species. If you're baseing your ID on the color that isen't a very good idea. There are lots of variation in these fish color is not a good tool in IDing them.
The reason it looks unhealthy IMO is because of the sunken belly and overall skinny look. Like the others have said, they tend to be quite robust when healthy.

Only one was a little sunken. And the other looked the same as yours maybe a little heavier.. But that is from this side.. Maybe not as large

so either it just wasnt eating enough in the pond or lake where u caught it... or it has a internal parasite in which case ur pbass is screwed... good luck with that (y)

THere were two.. There was no lake involved in me getting them The one was probably having issues getting food in the tank he was in.. And internal parasite I think not.. We are always to quick to diagnose without actual full experience.. Not ruled out but highly doubtful in my first hand viewing of the fish opinion
