'Cichlasoma' atromaculatum

Thought I would share a few photos of some atromaculatum I used to keep. You don't see these around too much anymore. I liked their color pattern, but they were very shy even after raising them since they were half an inch.

Wow good looking and rare fish Bob. How was their temperament when raising them and how big do they get?
 
Very nice to see these. Most people focus more on their sister species, exCichlasoma ornatum ... but these have a cool pattern, but colorfull fish tend to trump pattern fish in most cases.
 
They are not very aggressive. You can see the young Amphilophus altifrons in the background that I used to keep with them. I would say similar to psittacus or severum in temperament. The largest one I kept grew up to about 7"-8" after about 4 years.
 
i've never heard of seen thesee badboys, but they don't look to bad!
 
Shut up! I've wanted these since I first saw them in a cichlids Aqualog.
Do you know of anyone with any right now?
How big are the ones in your pix? I love their shapes and patterns. :D
