Yes, the pair are F1s from fish brought back to Winnipeg by Ray Quennel and Spencer Jack from a fish collecting trip to Uruguay two years ago.
Just curious what location are they from?

I'd bet Villa Constitucion

You're correct Matt. Villa Constitucion it is![]()

Here are some pictures from there
Villa Constitucion is a little town on kind of an oxbow of the Rio Uruguay... That's what rush hour looks like!
We found the little dimerus in plant-filled areas because there were also big pike, catfish, wolves (Hoplias) and other predators swimming around. Also some really cool high-finned cory cats.

Here's a C. dimerus I collected in Villa Constitucion![]()
Hey Matt, I was a bit premature on the collection site of the 'dimerus' I have. It apparently wasn't Villa Constitucion, but rather Bella Union. I just heard back from Ray.
Ray Quennelle: "The fish are from an un-named creek in the north of Uruguay, I believe near Bella Union".
I think Ray was on a trip with Ken Davis.
