Hey all so I received two salvinis from a buddy when I took over his tank. However I would like to move them to a 90 they are not paired up as I thought. The Female is larger compared to the male. In a 90 would two non paired salvinis work with say some lemon tetras. Or should I add 1 or two more cichlids to the 90 with the Sals I was thinking a group of Firemouths.

It might work. If they get along now, they might in the new tank. A group of firemouths would be good. I have mixed salvini with firemouths for a long time, even now.
Salvini has recently been reclassified and has been found to be very closely related to thorichthys. They are actually trichromis salvini now. They are solitary unlike thorichthys.
The only problem I could see is if the salvinis paired up. If they do, they will take over the tank and be extremely aggressive.

There is some chasing by the female she is about 4 inches where the male is still young at 3 inches. However they are housed with a Flowerhorn in a 120 and I do not want anything to happen to as the FH grows. Also the two hide alot however I was wondering if they would be out more if they were the only 2 with some dithers in the tank. May sound stupid but down the road as they grow can the two pair up? I always thought you need more in one tank to form a pair.

I'd worry more about the FH aggression.
It's hard to say if the salvini will pair up. I never had a smaller male than female cichlid breed. But that doesn't mean it won't happen. Just keep them together and it might.

this is the worst advice i have ever seen i mean not a single person saw this?? a salvini or 2 will torture firemouths, the level of aggression you can't compare

for salvini you can do big jewels, cubans, super big jack demp, myan cichild, big texas, probably even red devils lol i can't believe how someone would say firemouth, i keep firemouth with molly and angel fish.

Cichlidfish has been keeping salvini and thorichthys together for a very long time with no issues.I agree salvini can be nasty and as cichlidfish pointed out if the sals pair up they may need to be seperate from the meeki.
I find what is much worse advice is to advise fish like mayans, texas and red devil's as tank mates for a 90 gallon.

I'm surprised nobody else spotted this.Worse advice I've seen in a while.

no actually a fish has been tearing out the eyes and stomach of my other cichlids like killed f firemouth green terror and convict i thought it was a myan or jewel even until i caught the salvini in acation do you know if we are talking about the same fish even? salvini grow extra large teeth that other cichlids their size do not have. They have a serious advantage. ANd they are the only new world cichlid pound for pound i have seen distroy mbuna bigger than they are. I can make a video of my 150. I have had many of these fish and they are straight up killers. COnvicts are the biggest wimps sure cons attack us when they breed but salvini has the teeth to back it up. They have lake tang cichlid teeth. and i just can't believe people on here are acting like its a fish to mix with firemouth. Thats animal cruelty right there and sick. My salvini has ripped so many big fishes a new hole. On top of this the only fish i have seen take out a salvini is an aggressive red jewel. I dont know how it won but even aratus kenyi got their ass beat by a smaller sal.

ok NOT The red devil but in a 90 with sals they need bigger cichlids like texas, bigger JD, cubans,

THey exist in the wild with firemouth sure but you know what else exist in the wild together???? catfish and minnows lol Cruel for firemouth.

Jewels is another fish i think good to add with them. Yes a rd is too big and would kill the sal eventually. But the rest are fine. I have them all in a 125.

After your enlightening account of all the fish you have let your ferocious salvini kill, throwing accusations of cruelty is a little hypercriticel, don't you think?
