Cichlid compatibility

If thats the case, what about a Salvini pair and Convict pair together? With maybe some Giant Danios

I would advise against keeping pairs together in that size of tank. Salvini male or female with some convicts would be fine though. Again i don't like the idea of convict pairs as agression issues could arise. 100g becomes really small when larger fish are fighting and one needs to get away.

Convicts breed like cockroaches in even a 75 gallon. It's hard to have other fish survive in their swarm. Green Terrors grow really slow at first compared to JD's. JD's and Carpintis generally like caves. Provide those and you will probably be able to cohabitate a JD, a Carpintis and a GT. Add some dithers like giant danios ,denisonii barbs or rainbowfish- anything medium big that schools well

+1 on a pair of parachromis loisellei. You could do some dithers as well if you wanted. loiselle are awesome.

I would say do a male convict , male salvnini, or even a sajica

Thankyou for all the replies! I introduced a JD today and a Firemouth. Hopefully that will work out. I will probably get a male convict I have a batch of fry growing out in another tank. I will probably replace the Firemouth with a Salvini once a female reaches optimal size

I'm under the impression that firemouths ought to be treated as if they're schooling fish and are best kept in groups of 6 or more. A firemouth colony would be really cool.

I cant provide that for my firemouth thus my lfs had agreed to take it once I'm ready to move the salvini.
