Did anyone watch Tanked (on Animal Planet) last Saturday night? They converted a refrigerator into a Malawi Cichlid tank. It was very clever. I noticed that they had Mbuna (Labs), Haps (EB Ahli), and a variety of Peacocks, among other species. They also had a standard Pleco in there. It was super over-stocked. No substrate at all! How would you like to try to maintain that tank? Imagine trying to get in there to keep the algae off of the decor? I'd like to see that same tank one year from now.

I do love watching that show, though. Especially when they feature Cichlid tanks. I recall in their first season they converted a Keg into a Cichlid tank.

lol I know that would be a little bit of work to try and clean it. The pleco will help, but I don't know lol

There is a big thread about tanked already. But yeah I was saying the same thing. Way overstocked and would be a pain to clean. There was a sand substrate I was thinking now that thing would be almost impossible to vacuum the sand. Looked like you'd have to take the shelves decor and everything out to clean it. And wouldn't those shelves caz a flow problem with a lot of dead spots?

I live here in Vegas were the show is based
I know multiple people how have had tanks done by them
And companies as well
And what the show does not tell u is that 90% of there fish they stock in these tanks end up dead in a couple days
My buddies tattoo shop was stocked 3 times by them before he just asked for the credit on the fish and stocked it him self
The one they did at the tropicana for the mob experience all dead in two days
They make it look all pretty and good for the show but don't care what happens when the cameras are off
It's horrible
People will do anything to make a buck!!

I always wondered how they can set up a new tank and fully stock it in the same day. I would think that the tank would need to run empty for weeks in order for it to be cycled. The tanks they create are still amazing.

I knew it! They are going to cause a real escalation of the ignorant "I want it all done now" fish stocking horrors.
That show is 100% free advertisement for the featured company. I always figured they must have some awful good connections to get a whole series dedicated to their business.

Yeah it is causally problems
I work in a pet store
And I get people all the time questioning what I yell them about setting up new tanks
And the costumers always say that were wrong cause they do it all the time on tanked it's pretty annoying
