I'm always amazed that there's such a rift here between NLS and Hikari. I have used Hikari almost exclusively for years on my adults while I use NLS almost exclusively on my fry and grow-outs (because their .5mm Grow pellet is a great size). I've never found one miles above another. Feed your fish what you want to feed your fish.
It looks like the main difference between Cichlid Gold and Bio-Gold+ is the addition of probiotics? I have tried both and didn't continue with the Bio-Gold+ mainly because it's a floating pellet and it was getting sucked into my overflows before the fish could eat it. The Cichlid Gold sinking pellets work just fine for me. I have also used the NLS Thera-A but my fish room reeks of garlic for days.
