Hey I have a yellow lab Cichlid and he keeps getting stuck on the intake of my filter. When I try to get him off he swims away and then goes back... what is he doing???

Dying probably. Healthy fish don't get stuck to filter intakes.
What condition is he in otherwise?
Doesn't look fine, looks like someone is beating him up in the tank by the looks of his chewed up tail. Who else is in the tank with him?
Sounds like the blue mbuna is probably something aggressive like a Kenyi or something. Gonna need to either pull the lab or the other one out or the lab won't make it.
Also for mbuna they need to be stocked a bit on the heavier side to help spread out aggression. Hard to have only two mbuna in a tank.

I have a baby convict as well but it doesn’t seem to matter, it used to be the other way around the blue one got chased should I move it back to the stump the yellow lab was used to and dominant with?
