Why? Is it all of a sudden against the rules to ask questions here? I'm sorry I didn't get that memo! As far as the ID goes I would say that is a flowerhorn as said before that is heavy on the trimac side. Should turn out to be a nice fish for six bucks!

I'm just responding with a little tongue and cheek and your're freaking out. People need to Google. Seriously. And BTW, WTF is a proper ID? Do I need to show credentials? If the OP was to busy buying this $6 mutt that he forgot to ask what it was, then why is my expertise required? And then, after several have given their two cents, OP asks for a "proper" ID. Give me a break! And now Trace, asking for a memo? Really? People need to do some home work before they buy fish!

In this age of "smart" phones, laptops, and Google, there really isnt any reason for questions like this unless there is no idea and no search results. I will offer up what I think it is but if it isnt a proper ID in the OPs eyes, then the OP needs to see a marine biologist...or ask TRACE.:screwy:
 
Whoaa chill out dude!!! No reason to snap out!!. I did my research before starting this thread & being it a forum which is open to discussions I don't think their is a problem in that. The forum has people from all over & I thought that would help with the ID given that I have noticed many to have great & useful knowledge & feedback. The fish shop I got the fish from didn't have a clue as to what type it is & said it came labelled as a FH shipped from Singapore. It seems the word "proper" got into u & just to let u knw I used it not because I disregarded the feedback u guys provided but due to the different replies which I totally respect, i thought after adding the clearer pics u guys could come to a conclusion on the ID. Note that based on u guys feedback i did more research & to be honest ur reply was the closest ID to the fish. Hope u get this miscommunication & hope there are no hard feelings. At the end of the day it's just a thread, ppl could read & reply at their own will & no one is forced to.
For now will consider the fish as a hybrid & will keep u guys updated on it & open to any feedback. Thanks again all for ur replies....

I get carried away somtimes. Didn't mean to be as harsh as it came out. Sorry for that.

Sometimes its hard to convey the proper emotions in text....their should be a "sarcasm font", that way people don't take what you say to seriously....

Anyway, no worries, I like those ID threads, its kind of a challenge sometimes and I tend to learn alot. Sometimes my passion for the hobby gets me to worked up.
I hope the fish grows fast so we can see what this thing is! GL.
