so cal and singapore
wads up cichlids fishermans. I am going to Singapore this summer, I will be fishing in a reservoir and canals all over the country. Singapore is known to have pbass, flowerhorns, tilapias, snakeheads and many other assorted cichlids. I need some :help2: and tips on fishing for cichlids. I am targeting things from >5".
I'll post stuffs from my tackle box.

Do you see anything that might work? If there isn't please tell me what i should get. :D

I dont know much about cichlid fishing but if they are like bluegill they will like a small jerkbait.I noticed you dont really have any topwater lures. Try investing in poppers, zaraspooks, and jerkbaits. I know Peacock Bass like those. Also try getting a casting bubble and some flies for the small fish.

I agree , Ive also read that red devils and Mayans in Florida just kill Crickets. You might be able to buy some locally that with your Powerbait floating troutworms for the small Cichlids (red devils , Flowerhorns etc) and I would go for topwater lures for the Pbass.

I came to Taiwan from Cali. The fishing here is really different in Asia. I think the biggest thing will be the language barrier. Yes, there are thousands of rivers and lakes in Taiwan. But, it took me a long time just to figure out where to go, what to catch and so forth. The locals here are not very helpful. Imagine asking where to catch tilapia, for example, in another language. Then they tell you that there are this and that in the rivers here, and you have no idea what they are saying, because you speak English. And they way they fish in Asia is not like back home. So for tilapia, stick with worms and maybe artificials. I had luck with meal worms. The cichlids that I caught here were not picky at all. I caught all mine on plain white bread. I imagine they will strike lures too. I didn't bring lures with me here, so I didn't really get a chance to fish with them.

can never go wrong with johnson's beetle spins. those things catch EVERYTHING and i bet cichlids would kill em.

for Pbass you might wanna get a lil higher than 8lb test
